The Verdicchio "Stracacio" from Fattoria Coroncino is one of the most sought-after and fascinating labels produced by the winemaker Lucio Canestrari, regarded as one of the best artisans of Verdicchio. The winemaker's secluded, independent, and unconventional spirit, who does not want to belong to any association and shuns any definition, is the fundamental premise for creating wines with a territorial and surprising character, direct offspring of the vintage and the soil.

The "Stracacio" from Coroncino comes from a Verdicchio vineyard planted in 1991 on marl hillside soil, starting from old clones recovered from a noble vineyard that, in the 1930s, belonged to Professor Bruno Bruni. The presence of rows of Riesling in the vineyard and the professor's noted experimental attitude, inventor of the Incrocio Bruni 54, has led to speculation about a possible crossing between Verdicchio and Riesling. In the absence of more in-depth analysis, the case remains open. From these grapes, Lucio Canestrari produces, only in exceptional vintages, a white of great richness and complexity. Fermentations occur spontaneously with skin maceration for 3 days and aging for 18 months in steel and cement tanks. The aromatic depth that these mysterious grapes have revealed, combined with a production method aimed at extracting as many aromas and structure as possible, without ever using wood, gives life to one of the most interesting and unmissable oenological interpretations of the Marche.

The Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore "Stracacio" is the perfect synthesis of body, roundness, softness and vibrant fresh-salty energy. In the glass, it presents a bright, luminous golden color of considerable consistency. It spreads complex and articulated aromas of yellow fruit, hydrocarbons, sweet spices, hay, chamomile, and wild herbs in the air, crossed by a pleasant briny breeze. The sip envelops the palate with strength and decisiveness, revealing creaminess and softness. All supported by great freshness and a sustained salty and mineral vein that deepens the taste, making it three-dimensional. The aromatic profile is already complex and evolved, but it suggests a glorious development in the bottle in the years to come, marked, hypothetically, by hydrocarbon power, triumphs of overripe yellow fruit, and cornucopias of dried herbs and spices.
