The Nuragus by Antonella Corda is a typical white wine from Sardinia, produced with one of the oldest and most widespread grape varieties on the Island, especially in the areas of Cagliari and Oristano. It is a wine typical of tradition, offered in the most classic version, with a delicate vinification only in steel that gives fresh floral aromas, delicate fruity notes, citrus sensations, making the sip particularly pleasant. It is a wine very suitable to be tasted at aperitif time or to accompany delicate fish or seafood appetizers.
The Nuragus wine is made by one of the most skilled and prepared young producers from Sardinia. Antonella Corda manages a family estate of about 40 hectares, of which a dozen are dedicated to vineyards and the rest to olive groves and arable land. The vineyards are located in the countryside of Serdiana, in the inland of Cagliari. The Nuragus is cultivated in the Mitza Manna vineyard, which extends for 6 hectares at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level. The climate is typically Mediterranean, mitigated by the gentle breezes of the sea. The soils are very suited and have a predominantly marl-calcareous matrix. The wines of Antonella Corda are a pure and direct expression of the vineyard, of the love for her land and for the oldest traditions. They surprise with their elegance and freshness, with delicate, light, and refined aromas.
The Nuragus Antonella Corda is a faithful expression of the best qualities of the grape variety and the sunny and marine terroir of Southern Sardinia. At the end of the harvest, the grapes are softly pressed and the free-run must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. Before bottling, the wine rests for 6 months in stainless steel tanks on its own lees. In the glass, it has a light straw-yellow color with slight greenish reflections. On the nose, it recalls floral scents, citrus aromas, fragrant fruit, and aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean scrub. The sip is delicate, harmonious, with elegant and crunchy fruit. The finish returns to a lively citrus freshness, crossed by a pleasant salty trail. A simple and young white to open when one misses the sea.
