The Brunello di Montalcino by Fonterenza can be defined as spontaneous, expressive, and territorial. Spontaneous because Margherita and Francesca Padovani, the minds behind Fonterenza, choose sustainability to protect the environment. Expressive because the drinking experience is highly satisfying, and it is always accompanied by the right mix of elegance and strength. Finally, territorial, because soil, sky, climate, and nature are encapsulated in every grape of Sangiovese from which this Brunello is obtained. A true milestone for Fonterenza, a young reality to keep an eye on.
The Fonterenza winery produces this Brunello di Montalcino starting from a grape variety that, more than ever in these areas, is able to evoke emotions, the Sangiovese. The grapes are cultivated using the bilateral guyot method within a plot called "Vigna del Bosco", located at an altitude ranging from 420 to 450 meters above sea level. The terroir has a mixed composition, and vineyard operations are carried out taking into account the principles.of biodynamic agriculture. The grapes ferment alcoholically thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts in oak barrels, remaining in contact with the skins for 90 days. Then follows the aging, carried out for 47 months in wooden barrels of different capacities.
The Brunello di Montalcino branded Fonterenza presents itself with an intense ruby red color. Variegated and multifaceted is the olfactory spectrum, which recalls spicy and fruity notes, enriched by more woody and underbrush touches. On the palate, it has excellent body, powerful, with an elegant and dynamic sip that presents a finely integrated tannin; it ends with a deep finish, characterized by excellent persistence. A label that captures the different nuances of a unique terroir, from which some of the most prestigious red wines of Italy, famous all over the world, are born.
