The Barolo Riserva “Granbussia” by Aldo Conterno is also available in the prestigious Magnum version, which allows for a slower and more gradual evolution of the wine, capable of preserving greater fragrance and freshness over time. It is one of the most representative labels of the estate and expresses the historic excellence of the terroir of Monforte d’Alba and in particular the precious facets of the cru Bussia. It offers an extraordinary tasting experience, for richness, elegance, and complexity. Its aromatic persistence and depth make it a perfect table companion to accompany a braised beef, a red wine braised dish, or game stew.
The “Granbussia” Magnum is a Barolo produced by a historic winery in the Langhe. The Poderi Aldo Conterno estate was born in the post-war period, but is based on a centuries-old family tradition. The deep knowledge of the Langhe territory, and in particular the area of Monforte d’Alba, has allowed Aldo Conterno to select some particularly valuable vineyards. The his wines are still made today following the traditions of the territory and represent a classic, elegant, and austere version of the great Piedmontese wine, without any concessions to trends. An expression of ancient customs, the wine is born from a blend of a selection of grapes from the Romirasco, Colonnello, and Cicale vineyards, in order to achieve a harmonious and balanced final result every year. The vinification takes place with a long maceration on the skins and the use of indigenous yeasts. The very long aging period involves 33 months in large oak barrels of 35 hectoliters and at least 5 years in the bottle.
The “Granbussia” Magnum by Aldo Conterno is a Barolo Riserva created to enhance the peculiar characteristics of one of the most famous and highly regarded crus in the entire denomination area. Its particularly vocated terroir yields superior quality grapes, allowing for the creation of a wine that expresses a perfect synthesis of power, aromatic concentration, fine elegance, and longevity. To the eye, it presents a bright ruby color with decided garnet color reflections. Complex and intense, it offers an aromatic profile of particular charm, characterized by delicate floral scents of violet and dried rose petals, aromas of red currant, marasca, raspberry, hints of moss, underbrush, nuances of soft spices, and blonde tobacco. Structured and deep, it has a mature tannic texture, elegant fruit aromas, and notes of tertiary evolution, leading to a harmonious finish with remarkable aromatic persistence.
