For centuries, the Frescobaldi family has cultivated vineyards and produced wine in the heart of Tuscany, a region where they own several estates in areas of particular value. The social project of Gorgona came to light in 2011, and since that year, the Frescobaldi enologists have also offered their consultancy for vineyard work and winemaking in Gorgona. The inmates learn skills that they can later\u003c\/p\u003euse in their working life once they have completed their sentence. The Ansonica and Vermentino vineyards are cultivated in organic farming regimes on terraces, characterized by \u003cstrong\u003epoor and stony soils\u003c\/strong\u003e. The warm and dry climate, always ventilated, is very suitable for the vine. At the end of the harvest, the grapes are gently pressed, and the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature.
