At an altitude of around 600 meters above sea level, the vines sink their roots into a sandy soil with a very rich mineral composition, originating from continuous lava flows and the deposition of eruptive ashes: these are plants with an average age of a century, with some \u003cstrong\u003especimens even from the pre-phylloxera era\u003c\/strong\u003e. They benefit from an extremely peculiar microclimate, characterized by summer temperature excursions that reach 28 degrees between day and night, and are cultivated according to the traditional alberello method in a completely natural way, leaving the field grassed and without resorting to synthetic products. The harvesting operations are carried out by hand and the pressing in the cellar precedes spontaneous fermentation, conducted by only indigenous yeasts, in open wooden vats and without temperature control. The aging lasts for 24 months in first and second passage oak tonneaux, followed finally by a rest of an additional 6 months after bottling.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e“Profumo di Vulcano” by Fedegraziani presents itself to the eye in an intense ruby red color, particularly transparent. The nose is a complex triumph of aromas: the fruity impact of berries follows citrus notes of orange and mandarin and the aromas of the Mediterranean scrub, granting final nuances of sandalwood essence, spices, and sweet tobacco.
