Sustainability and typicality are two of the principle values that guide the production of the Torre alle Tolfe winery. The estate, located within a beautiful medieval village, extends over a hundred hectares, 13 of which are reserved for vines and the remainder dedicated to olive groves, woods and fields cultivated with cereals and legumes. Its name derives from Tolfo dei Gricci, one of Charlemagne's knights, who built a watchtower to defend Siena in the 8th century.
Chianti Colli Senesi di Torre alle Tolfe is a 100% Sangiovese from vines planted on hilly terrain consisting mainly of sandstone rock, with abundant marine fossils. The vines also benefit from the breezy climate, the altitude of around 330 metres above sea level and the organic management of the vineyards. After manual harvesting, the grapes are transferred to the cellar and placed in vitrified cement vats for spontaneous alcoholic fermentation, without direct temperature control. The subsequent maturation phase always takes place in cement and continues for a few months before final bottling.
The colour of Chianti Colli Senesi Torre alle Tolfe is an intense crimson red. Fruity hints of plum, cherry and berries define the olfactory texture together with more complex hints of spices such as pepper and cinnamon. The taste is soft and deep, endowed with firm tannins, pleasant freshness and great persistence. The finish insists on crisp fruity sensations.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0668/1860/5335/files/50865_2702ab6a-5861-4fc6-89a4-f25d9345656f.jpg?v=1774541317
